Rami Katz is a filmmaker and holds an MFA from the University of British Columbia (UBC), where he received the H. Norman Lidster Prize in Documentary Filmmaking. His documentary "The Issue of Mr. O'Dell" premiered at Full Frame '18, where it received the President's Award, and was selected to screen at twenty festivals across North America. The film made its broadcast premiere on the Knowledge Network, and is available to view online at Roar Magazine (worldwide) and Kanopy (US). Katz is an RIDM Talent Lab and Oregon Documentary Camp alumni and has received support from the Canada Council, the BC Arts Council, and Creative BC. A former board member of the Documentary Organization of Canada (BC Chapter), Rami has served as a juror for the Canadian Cinema Editors awards and the Yorkton Film Festival, and on screening committees for the Vancouver International Film Festival and the DOXA Documentary Film Festival. He has recently directed short videos for CBC Arts and the Canada Council for the Arts, and has taught film at UBC, Cinelab and the Reel 2 Real Film Festival for Youth.
